I finally got to burst my LA Guns cherry! They were very high on my list to see live since the 1990’s and man it was completely worth the wait! This was also my first visit to the brand spanking new Steel House in Downtown Omaha. She is magnificent, even the band said it was a little different than what they were used to playing when they tour.

LA Guns rolled out some old classics like Kiss My Love Goodbye, The Ballad of Jayne, and Electric Gypsy. They also dropped a couple of new hits, most notably was Diamonds from their “Black Diamonds” record.

LA Guns is lead by vocalist Phil Lewis, whose voice still carries over from when he was younger. He can still hit the high notes in what seems like he didn’t drop a step to reach them. Tracii Guns lead guitar playing skills haven’t dropped a bit either as he had at least three long solos. Rounding out the band were guitarist (the young gun as Phil called him) Ace Von Johnson, bassist, Johnny Martin and drummer, Shawn Duncan (hopefully Wikipedia didn’t let me down on the rhythm of this lineup).
